Flexible Single Master Operation (FSMO) is very key part in the Active Directory environment. being Active directory administrator, we should know where are these roles placed and health of the services.

Below is the simple Command to get the FSMO roles and the server where it is placed.

You can use below command to get the FSMO role holding server details,

         Netdom Query FSMO

Also you can use NTDSUtil command to get it. but the process is very high compare to Netdom commad. If you’re so keen in GUI, there is a way to get these. but you need to go to three different places Sites,DSA and Schema console for those information. So now you’re thinking Netdom is very simple. Isn’t it??
